I was just in New York a couple of weeks ago, and visited the 9/11 Memorial & Museum.
Seeing the names of the nearly 3,000 people that lost their lives that day, inscribed into bronze parapets surrounding the twin Memorial pools, located in the footprints of the Twin Towers, had a big impact on me.
And though it now the events of 9.11.2001 are fading from memory and public discussion …. particularly after visiting “Ground Zero” so recently, it is still very fresh in my heart and mind.
I hope today as we commemorate the 16th anniversary of 9/11, everyone will stop for a moment, and remember all the people who lost their lives.
I also remember how we united as a country after the attacks, and we realized that despite our many differences, we are not as divided as we seem.
And, that we should also take this day to remember the values that bring us together.
Here is to coming back STRONGER in the face of adversity.
